Quality programs for children

Our toddler program is for children 12 months old and older. Our patient, mature staff have very realistic expectations for this age group. They know that toddlers are energetic, delightful and eager to learn. They also know that they may be impatient, have a hard time sharing, like to climb and may test boundaries. Knowledge of these normal behaviors gives teachers patience and understanding. The toddler schedule is built for success with this age group. We keep a consistent schedule, but remain flexible to accommodate individuals. Toddlers have two circle times each day, where they listen to stories, sing songs, do finger plays and learn concepts. Teachers work on speech development and social skills. Learning letters and numbers is done through music, reading stories and through books. Toilet learning begins when children demonstrate that they are physically and emotionally ready. There are many smiles and much laughter during circle time. Our curriculum is theme based and emphasizes hands on learning. Having plenty of equipment ensures a calm environment. Our experienced teachers build a bond with each child, honoring their individual personalities.

Our developmental preschool runs 9:00-11:30 daily. Preschoolers attend either M-W-F or Tu-Th. We offer extended care 6:30 am to 6:30 pm. Childcare (which includes preschool) is offered 2, 3, 4 or 5 days per week.

Our preschool program is based on kindergarten readiness. Children explore the classroom, participating in hands on activities in the math/manipulative, writing/language, art, sensory, science, cooking, pretend play and other learning centers. We work with local elementary schools to assure that our curriculum complies with school readiness expectations. Parent teacher conferences are offered as part of our ongoing, excellent parent communication. At Braithburn, learning is fun. During choice time, children independently choose learning center activities. During class meetings, they read stories, sing songs, do finger plays and learn concepts relevant to the monthly theme. Favorite field trips are the library, parks, the veterinary office and the pumpkin patch. Parents are always welcome to visit. Our teachers help build a solid foundation for learning. Our goal is for children to love school.

We serve Cherry Valley and Stillwater Elementary Schools for before and after school care. Our program is for children ages 5-12. We provide a relaxed environment where children are offered crafts, games, cooking projects, computer games, manipulative toys, sensory experiences, snacks and outdoor time daily. Our large, cheerful classroom is comfortable and well equipped with age appropriate materials. Families can enroll for before school only, after school only, or both. We also have childcare for half days and no school days. The school-age staff emphasize cooperation and fun!

Braithburn Academy is the perfect place to spend your holiday, spring, mid winter or summer breaks. As a licensed program, you can be assured that we offer a safe, professionally run camp. We have mature, experienced staff and great student/staff ratios. Children's days are filled with field trips, art, games, cooking projects and much more. Examples of past field trips are Pump It Up, swimming at the beach, an alpaca farm, a bakery, veterinary hospitals, parks, libraries, pools, Jump, Rattle and Roll and restaurants. Each week's activities are planned based on fun themes such as Top Chef, Water World and Animal Adventures. Children experience a summer of smiles and create life long memories.
